-----------
Possibilities to Prepare:
* Review the goals of our task force
* Those of you who actually tested the Google Calendar (or have used it sometime), please be prepared to reflect on that experience.
* Reviewing the documents on Google Apps for Education would also be helpful, if you had time.
Calendar Task Force documents (including our original proposal and goals, meeting notices, and Google documents) are public, and can readily be obtained at http://bethanyseminary.edu/~enten/webfiles/calendar/
Zach will be present to represent the Seminary Computing Services (SCS) and assist us with evaluating the technical aspects of what is being presented. I will keep the meeting to one hour, so as to respect everyone's time.
------------
Background:
The Purpose of the Task Force has been to assist SCS in arriving at the most helpful calendaring solution by:
* Identifying needs and uses to be included in a comprehensive calendaring solution that
will function for both seminaries and meet the multiple needs of students, faculty, staff,
and administrations of the seminaries (user input);
* Screening software (user testing and feedback);
* Considering which compromises are acceptable and how to compensate for lacks, if not
all the seminary calendaring needs can be met with software that is available and
affordable (what users can live with and how to make the best of it); and
* Proposing structure, including policies and staffing roles, to successfully implement this
new solution (the social component/user commitment required for success).
