Join the Bethany and ESR communities in Nicarry Chapel for Meeting for Scripture. Bring your Bible to read from as the Spirit leads us in readings and music. To summarize, this involves people gathering with their Bibles, beginning in silence, and then when someone feels ready, that person reads a short passage. Others listen, paying attention to what arises for them in response, and then after some quiet another person shares a passage that the first one has brought to mind, either reading it or offering it as s/he remembers it. This goes on with people sharing passages prompted in them by one of the passages they heard. In addition, the joint choir will sing a choral version of "Be Thou My Vision." Start: 12:00 pm

On each Sunday of Advent and the Monday of the Winter Solstice there will be a labyrinth walk. Each walk will have a different focus: love, peace, joy, hope, and light. (all day)
Start: 11/18/2009 - 6:30pm
End: 12/02/2009 - 7:30pm
Only two more opportunities to watch Julia! Take a 1 hour break from studying and join the fun every other Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the ESR Dining Room. The entire simple event consists of watching 2 old episodes of The French Chef featuring Julia Child. No food; no moving furniture; over in about an hour -- an opportunity for you to take a short break from the books and watch something unrelated to seminary (although we know Julia Pantoga could talk to you all day about the intersections of food and theology). The two dates remaining are: November 18 and December 2. Start: 11:00 am
End: 1:00 pm
See the Invitation at http://esr.earlham.edu/~crowetr/Invitation.pdf For our final Common Meal of the Semester on December 1st, we'll be celebrating the Christmas season in several ways. Be sure to read this while on Thanksgiving break, as there are things you may want to plan in advance. Wednesday December 2, 2009
